Earlier this year, Nissan unveiled a prototype hybrid-electric race car called the Nissan ZEOD RC, with the promise that it will make its racing debut at the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans. Well the final racing model has just made its world debut, and I like what I see.

Last year Nissan threw its weight behind the DeltaWing prototype endurance race car, with mixed results. This year though Nissan has withdrawn its support, and will instead be fielding a competing (and very similar-looking) electric racer creatively called the ZEOD RC. Nissan claims it is the fastest electric car in the world, but the jury is still out on that.

Nissan Prepping All-Electric 24 Hours Of Le Mans Racer?

It’s hard to believe that it is already March, and in a few short months the 24 Hours of Le Mans will once again race into the history books. There’s a lot of talk about this year’s famous endurance race, including what car Nissan will contribute to the experimental “Garage 56”. With Nissan no longer backing the DeltaWing racer, rumor has it that the Japanese automaker could field a pure-electric race car.
