Super Awesome: Classic Ferrari, Mercedes Go Kart

A French company called De La Chapelle is building incredibly awesome, 2/3 scale, kid-sized go karts that emulate of some of the most iconic sporting cars of the 1950s and 60s. So far, the company has put out a Ferrari 300 P2 LeMans racer, an old “Stirling Moss” style Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR roadster, and a lovely Jaguar E-Type.

The De La Chapelle karts are powered by 50cc Honda engines that will push the tiny repli-racers all the way to more than 40 km/h (25 MPH). Your tiny drivers will know precisely how fast they’re going from the comfort of their bucketed racing seat, too, as each kart also feature fully functional speedometers, tachometers, headlights, brake lights, and turn indicators. (!)

Seriously, I don’t what’s not to love about a meticulously crafted, ultra lightweight, super efficient vehicle powered by a fuel efficient, 50cc Honda single? Check out the pictures of the De La Chapelle Ferrari 330 P2, Mercedes 300 SLR, and Jaguar E-Type karts, below, then let us know what you think of the classically styled karts in the comments section at the bottom of the page. NOTE: extra bonus points will be awarded to the cleverest comment regarding Honda engines in classic Ferrari and Mercedes race cars!
