To call the start of Sunday’s Formula 1 Chinese GP “tumultuous” doesn’t quite capture it. Nor do terms like “chaotic”, “frantic”, or “crash-happy s***show” do the job- although that last one comes closer than the rest. If you wanted the race live, you know exactly what I mean. If you didn’t, though, just know that there were something like six individual crashes and “racing incidents”, a safety car for tire-cutting debris on the track that effectively ended Daniel Ricciardo‘s challenge for an overall win, and fully three Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen pitstops … in the first 10 laps.
Chinese GP, Position Changes After 10 Laps
I almost forgot: Fernando Alonso’s McLaren-Honda and Pascal Wehrlein’s Manor-Mercedes were running in the top 5, at one point.
So, yeah. Not really sure how to sum this one up for you, kids. Go find a feed and watch it yourself- it was easily one of the most thrilling races of the last several years, despite what might seem like a rather predictable “Mercedes-Ferrari-Red Bull” podium. Wait … wasn’t that the team running order someone predicted before the season started?
Yeah it was! You can complain about my back-pat-sturbation in the comments section at the bottom of the page. On your way there, you might as well check out or results chart and let us know what you thought of the Chinese GP- and Nico Rosberg’s sixth win in a row!- while you’re there. Enjoy!
