Tesla Autosteer & Automatic Parallel Parking Almost Here

The title above and a few tweets from Tesla CEO and Product Architect on Friday basically say everything, but to reiterate: Tesla autosteer and automatic parallel parking are almost ready for launch, which means that everyone who has bought or leased a new Tesla since the D (dual motor) launch late last year will get these new autopilot features.

There is one final roadblock to autosteer, Elon notes. It is getting the car to spot low-contrast lane markings at dusk. I can only imagine how difficult that is… while also not programming the car to respond to faint markings you don’t want it to respond to.

So, how much longer do Tesla drivers have to a it no way? One week? One month? Three months? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, I know some folks over on the a Tesla Motors Club forum are having a little friendly bet on the timing of the actual launch.
