Tesla Model S Owners Love Tesla More Than Other Humans Love Other Car Companies

Say what? Apologies for the weird title, but a snazzy title escapes me. Anyhow, yep, owning a Tesla is probably as awesome as it seems from the outside. And if other car companies aren’t scared, they should be. Check out the latest news in this EV Obsession repost:

A new survey has given support to something that many who have driven a Tesla Model S have probably already theorized about — the idea that Tesla owner loyalty is probably unequaled in the whole of the auto industry. After all, how could someone drive a Model S and not muse on the subject?

The recent Jefferies survey polled 145 owners, of which 85% noted that their next car would definitely be a Tesla, 25% of which noted that they’re not considering any brand other than Tesla, and 89% of which said they would still purchase a Tesla even if the current US federal tax credit of $7,500 was done away with.

In addition to these numbers, 83% also said that they would recommend a Tesla to a friend looking to purchase a car (unsurprisingly). Interestingly, the survey also seemed to show that Tesla Model S owners represented a much more diverse group of consumers than typical luxury-car consumers.

While the company’s potential market already seems to be larger and more diverse than many other luxury-car manufacturers, it will presumably expand greatly with the launch of the Model 3 and the Model X. Owing to the fact that some are interested in a purchasing a Tesla but can’t afford a Model S, and the fact that some people only seem to be interested in driving SUVs.

These new survey findings represent just the latest in a long line of signs that Tesla Motors, and the Model S more specifically, are viewed in a very good light by consumers. (On that note, it’s probably worth remembering that the Model S has held the top spot on Consumer Reports’ customer satisfaction index for the last 2 years.)
