Tesla Model S 70D Raffle Supporting A Good Cause

After test driving the Tesla Model S P85D, conventional cars just don’t have the same appeal anymore. Realistically though, a $100,000, 691 horsepower automobile is still well outside of my reach, as well as being a bit impractical for day-to-day driving. But the just-announced Tesla Model S 70D, with 240 miles of driving range, Dual Motor all-wheel drive, and Supercharging features? That’s the car for me. But I’d still need to win the lotto to afford the $75,000 asking price.

The lotto, or, the Messner Foundation’s updated Tesla raffle. We already discussed how the Messner Foundation is raffling off a Tesla Model S to help support at-risk youths, but the 60 kWh Model S that they had planned to auction off has become outdated with the announcement of the 70D. Rather than sell tickets for an outdated vehicle, the Messner Foundation has upped the ante, and now your $200 ticket will give you a chance to win the all-new 70D.

It isn’t just a base model, $75,000 70D either, as the Messner Foundation specced the Model S out to include the Red Multi-Coat paint, panoramic sunroof, 19-inch wheels, tan Nappa leather seats, the Tech Package, Ultra High Fidelity Sound, and parking sensors. Those options bring the MSRP to just under $86,000, and for a $200 bet you could end up behind the wheel of one of the world’s hottest cars. With just 5,000 tickets set to be sold, your odds of winning aren’t half bad either.

You can also rest assured that even if you don’t win, your money is going to a good cause. According to its website, the Messner Foundation “…identifies underprivileged high school students who have demonstrated leadership traits and gives those students the resources and connections they need to flourish. The goal of the Messner Foundation is to cultivate the next generation of business and community leaders.”

A noble cause and a cool car raffle is a safe bet all the way around. Click here to purchase tickets.
