Video: Jaguar XE Connectivity Bonanza

Dr. Mike Bell of Jaguar is back with another video on the many features the all-new Jaguar XE will utilize to make driving safer and more engaging. A mobile WiFi hotspot and laser-projected heads-up display are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

So far most of Jaguar’s press has focused on the aluminum chassis and new Ingenium engine family, but now that the debut is drawing closer we can start digging into the nitty-gritty neat stuff. Dr. Bell promises that the Jaguar XE will feature “plain voice” control system, allowing you to immediately access the feature or app you want without having to navigate through a host of complex menus via either the touchscreen or voice commands. You can even take conference calls on the go, a feature that will no doubt appeal to the business world.

Speaking of the world, a new smartphone app will allow you to control all sorts of car features on the XE from anywhere on the planet. Jaguar is also including a feature called “Incontrol Secure”, which protects your ride with a LoJack-like GPS tracking device that feeds information to local law enforcement should your XE land in the wrong hands.

There’s more, but I’ll let Dr. Bell do the rest of the informing on what will be a 75 MPG (at least in the U.K) luxury sedan connected to a world of safety features and driving aids.
