In a few short weeks, Monster Tajima will return to Pikes Peak in his custom E-Runner electric race car to try and break his own record. Before that happens though, Monster has to dial-in his race car, which he did during a recent track day…and we’ve got the on-board footage.
For all the people complaining about the lack of proper noise from EVs, Monster’s E-Runner racer sounds plenty cool to me. Throw in some dramatic background music, and you’ve got a brief but exciting look at one of the favorites to take home this year’s best time. Sponsored by GoPro cameras, this on-board look was taken entirely using the tiny-but-tough video recorders.
I’m pumped that so many electric competitors are returning to the Peak with determination in their eyes, but Monster remains the guy to beat. Can he dethrone Rhys Millen’s record-setting run up the Peak using an electric race car? If anybody can do it, it’s the Monster of the Mountain.
