Video: Ride With The Brammo Empulse RR And TTXGP Champ Steve Atlas

As one of the biggest players in the electric motorcycle world, there’s a lot of pressure on Brammo to produce world-class vehicles. Well so far they are holding up just fine, and their latest offering has the potential to reshape the vision most of us have of electric vehicles. Watch as TTXGP champion Steve Atlas laps the Oregon Park Raceway on the Brammo Empulse RR electric superbike.

The Brammo Empulse RR is the racing version of the Empulse R, and with two time TTXGP Champion Steve Atlas on board, it is a formidable force to be reckoned with. Sure, there isn’t the guttural growl that you get with normal combustion-powered bikes, but there is no denying the raw power the Empulse RR possesses.

If you’re looking for a street legal electric bike, the Brammo Empulse R with up to 121 city miles of range and rapid acceleration may be just for you. Brammo is definitely trying to play up the sexy factor with their electric motorcycle, as shown in this recent Brammo commercial. Brammo is trying to position the Empulse as a legit alternative to traditional motorcycles, asking for no sacrifices from the rider in terms of range or performance.

They’re definitely playing up the performance aspect, especially in the above video. It’s enough to make a guy want to ditch four wheels in favor of two. But there is plenty of competition in the electric motorcycle world, most notably from companies like Zero Motorcycles, who just released their own 2013 catalog.

The electric motorcycle market is growing at a rapid rate; who will emerge as the top player? It’s still anybody’s game, and the crop of excellent products from both Brammo and Zero is making it more than interesting. For now, enjoy this awesome video of the Brammo Empulse RR silently tearing up the track.
