Russia News: Yo-Auto CNG Hybrid Postponed Until 2015

We’ve been covering the Russian Yo-Auto brand since the cars were little more than concepts here at Gas2. They’re good-looking little cars, and the CNG-powered, hybrid-electric cars have combined a number of promising “green” technologies in clever ways that many Gas2 readers have openly asked the established OEMs to consider … but now, there is troubling news for the Yo-Auto: initial deliveries have been postponed until 2015.

Supplier delays are being cited as the reason for the Yo-Auto’s delay, but it’s hard to imagine that a company being promoted by Vladimir Putin and strong sales would be felled so easily, and without someone’s body being found in 3 separate 50-gallon drums (Russia being what it is).

Here’s hoping that the Yo-Auto’s development can continue, and that a clean-burning CNG hybrid makes its way to market soon.
