Ford Asks: What Should the Focus Electric Sound Like?

While some might consider a quiet electric car to be a boon, others worry that these silent cars could become pedestrian killers. To address this, Ford is asking its fans to decide what the upcoming Focus Electric should sound like.

There is already pending legislation that would require all EV’s to emit some sort of warning sound, so rather than wait for an eventual law, Ford is being pro-active. Over on their Facebook page they’ve put up four six-second clips demonstrating different sounds they are considering for the Focus Electric.

There’s nothing crazy or wacky here; just a few sounds up for consideration. For what it is worth, I wouldn’t mind having a car that sounds sort of like a spaceship…so I’m preferential to Sound A, my second choice being Sound D. But what about the rest of you? Sound off in the comments below and tell me what you think the Focus Electric should sound like. I’ll be sure to pass your comments along to Ford.
