Volvo just entered the hybrid market with a limited production V60 Plug-In Hybrid-Electric Vehicle (PHEV). They sold the first 1,000 that they built last year, and initially expected to increase production to 5,000 in 2014, but now they are increasing it to 10,000 due to unanticipated demand

The all-new 2013 Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid has already sold out in Europe, making the Volvo hybrid one of the brand's most popular new car launches ever. It is the world's first production diesel plug-in hybrid car, and Volvo's first production hybrid. Volvo has been working on various hybrid and electric vehicle designs, but they were skittish about launching them. Maybe now they'll change their mind!
