Volkswagen e-Up And e-Golf Debut With 100+ Miles Of Range

While Volkswagen has become a leader in clean diesel cars, their hybrid and all-electric offerings have been rather paltry. That all changes though with the reveal of the Volkswagen e-Up and e-Golf, two all-electric people movers that offer at least 100 miles per charge, and a cost to operate far cheaper than comparable gas or even diesel vehicles


Electric Version of the VW up! Unveiled

As if the Volkswagen pp! wasn’t frugal enough, the engineers at VW have decided to create an all-electric version of the tiny city car: the e-up! Though the U.S. seems to dominate the news when it comes to CNG vehicles, over in Europe automakers are also playing with natural gas vehicles. The new VW Eco Up! is being billed as the world’s most fuel-efficient CNG vehicle, returning an estimated 56 mpg with some of the lowest carbon emissions of any vehicle on the road


VW Up! Getting Two-Cylinder Diesel Engine

In the endless pursuit of higher fuel economy, Volkswagen is thinking small; really, really small. In fact, Vdub is cutting one of its most popular engines, the 1.6 liter TDI, in half. This will create a two-cylinder diesel engine that will deliver impressive fuel economy for some of VW’s most expensive, and least expensive vehicles
