The first fatality in a Tesla Model S being driven in autonomous mode happen June 29 on a highway in Florida. Tesla says bright sunshine reflecting off a white truck crossing the roadway caused Autopilot not to see the other vehicle.


BMW Wins LAPD Contract Over Tesla

The LAPD has decided to lease 100 BMW i3 sedans for routine department duties. The three year lease will cost the city $1.4 million. The i3 was chosen over the Tesla Model S primarily because it costs half as much.
