People who bought VW diesels in 2009 were eligible for a $1300 green car tax credit, only the cars aren’t green, and VW could be in trouble with the IRS.
I’ve always found it a little fucked up that US federal incentives for solar energy and electric cars are tax credits. I’m sure there are some arguments for this, but a simple cash rebate (like California offers) would be much more useful for the majority of people.
Rebates For Plug-in Vehicles In Texas… But Not For Tesla Vehicles (via Clean Technica) Texas certainly isn’t known as a Tesla-friendly state. The Texas dealership lobby has kept Tesla out of the state, making it very difficult to buy a Tesla in Texas. The Lone Star State is moving to encourage the purchase of electric […]
While most Americans were enjoying the holiday break, Congress was called in for a special session to try and work out a deal to avoid the so-called “fiscal cliff.” A compromise was reached, a deal was passed, and while nobody is particularly happy with the “American Taxpayer Relief Act”, a number of green energy credits were extended for at least another year.

The state best known for its snowy peak […]
