Great news, car fans! The Ford Ranger and Ford Bronco nameplates will be making a US comeback if this $9 billion UAW deal goes through!

The 2015 Ford Ranger is getting a slightly new look to go along with all the turbodiesel goodness it packs under its hood.
Ford hasn’t built the Ranchero since 1979, but the Blue Oval is considering a new small pickup for the American market. Don’t call it a comeback?
Thanks to World Car Fans, we now have spy shots of the new for 2015 Ford Ranger being tested right here in the United States. Prior to this, all photos of the upcoming truck resulted from testing in Europe or Asia, where the Ranger is sold. Although the test mule in the photos is heavily camouflaged, […]
I was invited to Dearborn, Michigan on Ford’s dime to drive the 2014 Ford Fiesta and the 2014 Fusion Energi, but we’re already off topic. We are here to talk about trucks! While I was in Dearborn, Ford presented us with the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, an EcoBoost, performance-centric pickup that is everything right-and-wrong about the auto industry.. This is a truck that takes me back…
We’ve made no qualms about our disappointment with Ford and its unwillingness to replace the Ranger, a mid-size pickup that was one of the few alternatives to a full-size truck. Ford has insisted that consumers would rather have a full-size truck, but rumor has it that the Blue Oval might be considering a car-based, unibody pickup to replace the hole left by the Ranger.
Chris’ petition to Ford trying to convince the blue oval boys to bring their “world-market” diesel Ranger to the US has been, comment-wise, one of the most popular posts in Gas 2’s short five-year history. Despite our pleas, increasingly stringent CAFE standards on light trucks, the recession, the complete absurdity of driving a full-size pickup […]
It seems hard to believe, but 2011 is all but over. In my first year as Editor of Gas2, I’ve tried to bring you lots of cool, weird, and interesting stories on alternative fuels. But which stories did you, the readers, respond most to? Well to round out the year, I’ve compiled a list of […]
Truck owners represent a huge chunk of all vehicle traffic, and – when it comes to gas prices – they’re in a tougher spot than the guy driving a big luxury sedan or sportscar. They need a truck, in other words, to get to work or just get by, whereas the guy in the Viper […]
America has a diesel phobia, and it is a crying shame because there are some damn good diesel cars sold just across the pond. The latest wish-we-got-it is a 67 MPG (U.S.!) Ford Focus Econetic. Booo…. Ford has shown off the new Focus Econetic ahead of the Amsterdam Auto Show, and this adorable little diesel […]
Ford had the biggest and most bombastic new-car introduction of the whole Detroit Auto Show. More than that though, they introduced the best looking concept, and gave me a lot more to look forward to than minivans. I already spent time griping about the C-Max, even though they are coming in plug-in and hybrid flavors. […]
Ford has been touting the 2011 F-150 with a hodgepodge of new engines, but what of the Ranger? Here in America, Ranger production is slated to end in 2011 while the rest of the world gets a train-towing bad boy.
