Radio2 presenter Chris Evans took passengers on flying laps around the TopGear test track in his million dollar LaFerrari in the name of charity – on video.
Ferrari has pledged to cut its vehicle emissions 20% by 2021 by employing turbochargers and hybrid technology.
Even though Ferrari’s head honcho promises that the brand won’t do a pure electric sports car, hybrids are very much a part of the future of Ferrari. The all-new LaFerrari supercar is after all a mild hybrid, and a recent patent filing by the Italy-based supercar maker reveals that its next grand touring car will […]
While some sports car companies like Porsche have embraced hybrid technology with open arms, others have only just started to toy with mating combustion and electric drivetrains. While the new LaFerrari hybrid is a good first step, some have wondered how far Ferrari will take their hybrid tech. Apparently the supercar maker is very into hybrids, just not the kind you plug in.
Since revealing the drop-dead gorgeous LaFerrari hybrid supercar at the 2013 Geneva show in March, Ferrari has kept quiet on its LaFerrari flagship, prompting some to speculate that, as one poster on the Ferrari Chat forums says, “there is a ‘big problem with the car’.”
For the past decade or so, many automakers large and small have embraced the alpha numeric naming system for their cars, as most of the good names are already taken. But a small Belgian outfit is building a powerful hybrid supercar with a V12 engine, and the name would fit any James Bond love interest; the Minerva J.M. Brabazon.

The latest bit they are showing off is the carbon fiber monocoque that forms the heart of the chassis.
For fans of performance cars, there is nothing in the world quite like a Ferrari. You don’t even have to like cars at all to love the Ferrari, the epitome of European excess and luxury wrapped in a sleek supercar package. Yet unlike other European automakers, like Porsche, who has embraced hybrid and clean-diesel technology, […]
Is this a sign of the end-times? Ferrari, perrenial maker of fast and exotic sports cars, has finally caved to international pressure as governments the world over crack down on carbon emissions. The noble Italian carmaker has confirmed reports that it will be building a mass-produced (at least for Ferrari) hybrid vehicle utilizing the same […]
Porsche is doing it. So is Ferrari. It seems like all the supercar makers are going green these days. Ford has its own plans for hybrids, including the possible return of the Ford GT supercar…as a hybrid.
[social_buttons] I am extremely vocal on the topic of electric cars, especially when it comes to their performance potential. Instant torque is very, very fun—to say the least—and makes a lot more sense on the racing circuit than internal combustion engines (at least in short bursts). Makers of high-end exotics are starting to pick up […]
