The back-and-forth saga of the all-electric Audi R8 e-tron has come to a sad conclusion. Despite building ten test cars, Audi will not sell the R8 e-tron to the public, surely causing some hedge fund managers and industrialists to break down in tears. A new report suggests that despite being close to a production-ready vehicle, Audi has halted work on its all-electric R8 e-tron supercar...and could possibly even kill the project

About a month ago, Audi took its R8 e-tron all-electric supercar to the famed German race track the Nurburgring. There they set a new world record for electric cars, although the record comes with an asterisk. Audi has just released a video from that record run, and it is much different from almost every Nurburgring track video out there
