From its state-of-the-art electrical system to its impossibly lightweight internal combustion engine to its revolutionary DeltaWing style chassis, there are thousands of new and exciting parts being pushed to the envelope by the Nissan ZEOD RC team filling the “Garage 56” spot at this year’s 24 Hours of LeMans – and you can see how they all go together in the detailed exploded view (above) released by Nissan earlier this week.
“Our philosophy at Nissan is to really let fans get a behind-the-scenes look as to what it takes to develop the unique technology in the Nissan ZEOD RC,” said Darren Cox, Global Head of Brand, Marketing & Sales, NISMO. “Most fans don’t get to see what is under the skin of these cars and certainly don’t get the opportunity to see what happens at a crash test (which Nissan shared earlier this week). We can’t have everybody in the garage at the race, but through revealing video and images like this.”
Nissan will officially debut its ZEOD RC racer (in race trim) at the Circuit de la Sarthe during the Le Mans Test Days on June 1, where it is expected to be driven by GT Academy winner Wolfgang Reip and two-time Le Mans LM P2 winner, Tommy Erdos. Nissan is expected to make a “major announcement” in re: 2015 at the same time. So … maybe BladeGlider? Here’s hoping!
