Monday Warm-Up: “Kick Gas” Follows Four Epic EV Road Trips

Feeling uninspired this Monday? Like you need a jolt of motivation to get the week going? Don’t worry, we’re here to help with your Monday Warm-Up.

Today, let us prescribe you two minutes of the “Kick Gas” movie trailer, which follows four people travelling across the United States in 44 days driving electric vehicles. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed with the stack of paperwork staring you down, just imagine riding an electric bicycle through the searing heat Death Valley.

Want to see more? You won’t have to wait long, as the complete movie will debut tomorrow on Earth Day. So get motivated buddy, because no Monday lasts forever, and there are regular people like you and I doing great things every day…Mondays included.

    Let’s do some math.

In my Coda, going a reasonable pace of about 60mph, I can drive 100 miles on a charge (leaves about a 15% cushion), followed by 5 hours of level two charging.

Assuming there are level 2 stations every 100 miles across the US longitudinally (there ain’t), the 2789 mile drive from LA to NYC would take me…

    {[(2789/100)*5] + (2789/60)}/24 = 7.75 days

I guess the fact that there aren’t enough level two stations is the cause of the additional time needed.
