We’re still about six months away from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but perennial endurance racing champion Audi isn’t giving its foes any breathing room. The next-generation Audi R18 E-Tron is already being tested for the upcoming racing season, and the German Automaker wants everyone to know it.
Audi has won 12 of the last 14 24 Hours of Le Mans, and has won both World Endurance Championships it has entered. The turbodiesel hybrid combination is unmatched on the racetrack, and Audi’s domination has squeezed a lot of teams out of the competition. While other automotive, such and Toyota and Nissan have stepped up to challenge Audi, none have knocked the champion from its perch.
No details on the latest Le Mans monster are out yet beyond this one picture, but it isn’t like Audi is looking to release the stranglehold it has on the world’s oldest endurance race. Prepare for more four-ringed endurance racing domination this summer, courtesy of the Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro.
