Last week Icona teased a car that has all the tappings of an Italian exotic. But now that the covers are off, we can honestly say it’s a supercar with looks on par with anything produced by Ferrari. Oh, and don’t forget that 950 horsepower hybrid drivetrain! What more does an up-and-coming Chinese businessman need.
While many have focused on the Ferrari influence in terms of looks, we’re more intrigued by the pair of drivetrains, which includes a 6.0 liter V12 mated to a 160 horsepower electric motor. This is the “H-Turismo” package and combined output at the rear wheels is estimated to be around 950 horsepower. That is as much as the new LaFerrari Hybrid.
For those looking for something a little more toned-down, there is the “H-Competizone” package, which uses a smaller twin-turbo V6 hooked up to a pair of electric motors producing 870 all-wheel drive horsepower. Definitely the more practical setup, though we wouldn’t mind having either drivetrain in our daily driver.
The 950 horsepower setup will take the Icona Vulcano to speeds of up to 350 kph, or 217 mph. No word on price, but you can bet it won’t be cheap. Add this to the collection of “Hybrid Supercars We Dream Of One Day Owning.”
