Interbike By Invitation: Customers Now Welcome At The Popular Trade Show
The Tern Mobile Social is the party of the year, every year at Interbike.
Like most trade shows, Interbike is the place for retailers to get one-stop-shopping for everything they could possibly want in their store. But the problem with this model is it relies on past experience with customers to predict future sales to customers. Interbike has accepted the fact that customers love to attend their trade show and created Interbike by Invitation, a VIP day where customers invited by their favorite Local Bike Shop can attend the popular trade show. Read our coverage of the 2012 show here.
Interbike has also partnered with SmartEtailing to create a revolutionary new retail experience, Buy Local Now:
Buy Local Now connects brands with consumers and stocking retailers, allowing products to be purchased online and delivered through local bike shops. Tablet-based kiosks will be available in high-visibility locations throughout the Interbike show floor. The kiosks will be promoted as Buy Local Now Kiosks, presented by Interbike. This unique initiative will provide an alternative sales solution to companies to create sales for their retailers, without violating Interbike’s strict no-sales policy.
Last year at Interbike, I met dozens of happy customers who were just there to be with their people. We all enjoyed the excitement of being at the world’s biggest bicycle trade show. It was great to see everything under the sun for cycling. Now customers can shop the floor alongside their retailers.
The parties were great, both on the trade show floor and after the show closed. Now is the time to ask your favorite bike shop to hook you up with a ticket. It’s not just for your own good, it reduces the amount of risk your bike shop has to carry, because you’re placing your order at the same time as they are.
