Tesla Model S Wins World Green Car Of The Year

The world automotive press has been lavishing praise upon the Tesla Model S for most of the past year, and plenty of magazines and news outlets have awarded their most prestigious awards on the Model S. Well Tesla CEO Elon Musk can add another feather to his cap, as the Model S was awarded the World Green Car of the Year award.

Competing against automakers from all around the world, the judges had to choose between the Tesla Model S, the all-electric Renault Zoe Z.E., and the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid. That means it was two EVs up against a diesel plug-in hybrid…and the Model S won out. Again.

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk had this to say about the latest accoldates for the Tesla Model S;

“The success of Model S is a critical step towards the widespread adoption of sustainable transport and we are grateful to the World Car of the Year Jury for the recognition.

Winning the 2013 World Green Car award is great acknowledgment of what Tesla has accomplished with Model S in the last four years.”

Congrats to Elon and the whole Tesla crew.
