These are my favorite stories of the dozens I wrote last year.
For me, the most exciting ones all revolve around Charge, the film about electric motorcycle racing in its inaugural year at the Isle of Man.
#1: My review of the film Charge (which I still think is the best current film about racing the Isle of Man)
#2: My interview with the director Mark Neale
#3: My interview of Mark Miller, whose win aboard the MotoCzysz in the 2010 TT Zero was featured in Charge.
#4: This awesome helmet cam video MotoCzysz put together
#5: Going to the Laguna Seca MotoGP as a journalist for the first time.
In 2012 I’ll be covering the TT Zero race at Isle of Man live, which will be a historic event. It’s very likely one of the racers will “break the ton” (average over 100mph on the ~35 mile course). Not only will they get the distinction of making a record it took gas bikes decades to make, the winner will also go home with £10,000!
