BMW brought their gorgeous i3 and i8 concept cars to show off their new EV platform. The i8 is exactly what I’d expect from a company known for making gorgeous muscle cars. It appears designer Richard Kim (above) was inspired quite literally by muscles. The way the air scoops undulate out of the front panels to direct air toward the back mimic the way muscles wrap around each other.
Nothing seems to motivate people more than cash, and British Columbia has acknowledged this. The Canadian province has launched a new incentive program, which will go into effect December 1. The program will offer up to $5000 Canadian dollars as a rebate for people willing to invest in vehicles that utilize fuel cell electric, hybrids, battery electrics, and compressed natural gas cars.
Luxury and micro are generally not used to describe the same object, especially when it comes to cars. But Croatian startup Doking plans to change all that with their XD. This Kevlar-bodied electric city car is merely 9 feet long, with either 2 or 4 synchronous permanent magnet motors delivering either 90kW or 180kW.
