Some days, I can’t help but shake my head at the tactics the green movement will resort to to get people to change their energy consumption habits. More often than not, these tactics seem to backfire, and the message gets lost in angry rhetoric that devolves into “Them vs. Us.” This video of a Prius driver accosting a diesel truck driver for idling in a parking lot is a perfect example of how not to engage in an intellectual discussion about idling and fuel consumption.

Mitsubishi To Unveil Hybrid Crossover And 70 MPG Small Car

Mitsubishi sales in America have been sinking for some time, to the point where the small Japanese automaker has killed off most of their lineup to make room for electric and hybrid vehicles. Mitsubishi will unveil two of these vehicles, a hybrid crossover and a small car that could get up to 70 mpg on Japan’s testing cycle.

The Chevy Volt is a lightning rod for criticism, especially from the right-wing of American politics. The $40,000 plug-in hybrid has been lambasted as being too expensive, an “Obama-mobile” and most recently, as a sales failure. Unfortunately for these critics, Volt production and sales are picking up steam, to the point where GM is now allowing dealers to sell the over 2,000 demo cars sent to them this summer.

According to Greenpeace, despite the green image Volkswagen likes to portray, VW is at the heart of a group of companies lobbying against new laws which Greenpeace sees as need to cut CO2 emissions, reduce mankind’s oil use, and protect places like the Arctic from climate change.
