Czech automaker Skoda has released the specs on its large sedan, the Superb, and what they’re offering isn’t what you might expect. This 53 mpg diesel-powered sedan has a Greenline option uses just 4.4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. That’s about 53 mpg, and as an added bonus, it has rear passenger footrests, for the little dictator in all of us.

Study: People Will Buy More EV’s When Gas Hits $4.50 A Gallon

A Harvard University study at the Kennedy School of Government, titled “Will Electric Cars Transform the U.S. Vehicle Market?” by Henry Lee and Grant Lovellette, has found that as the price of gas goes up the interest in electric cars also increases, but people won’t really start buying EV’s until gas costs at least $4.50 a gallon.

Germany Pledges to Strictly Enforce Vehicle Emissions Standards

Stricter emissions laws threaten to descend upon Germany’s low emissions zones after 2012. Whether or not the standards will be as strictly enforced as they are regulated remains to be seen. The German Environmental Aid Association has noted that standards are currently not enforced much at all. More was learned in an interview.
