Cheap electric scooters are a long way off?? That is out of touch with the reality of the millions of people dependant on electric scooters and bicycles in China and India. I can convert a 50cc scooter to a higher performing electric version for a few hundred dollars. The technology is HERE and now and there is a reality of low cost electric transportation that is getting IGNORED by the media. I expect that from CNN , but not from "Gas 2.0"! Lets get some coverage for the pioneers that are making history finding a way right now to meet their needs with electric transportation! Not only in China but here in the US as well. That would be a lot more interested I think then pie-in-the-sky concept vehicles!
