Electric Cars to Get "Alert Sounds" for Blind, Elderly, and Child Safety

What is the future of fuel? What's new? What's next? Since 2007, Gas 2 has covered a rapidly changing world coming to terms with its oil addiction.
Make them all sound like IC engines,lol.

This is so silly — when I am walking in quiet areas, what do you think the first sound that I hear from an approaching car is?
The tires on the pavement. (Last I checked, all EV’s have these, too!)
ICE cars are very quiet these days, at low speeds anyway. So, why are we worried about something that is already proven not to be a problem?!

I agree with Neil. VERY bad idea….will induce more noise pollution in the long run. You can always hear the tires on the road.

I have already solved the alert problem on my homebuilt EV. I have wired a Radio Shack Digital
Voice Module to my flash to pass lever. When I flash
to pass the DVM announces “Caution, car approaching”.
When backing up. another DVM connected to the back up
light circuit announces “Caution, car backing up”
Total cost of parts, less than $20.
