Report: Top 12 Potentially Disruptive Transport Technologies

Revolutionary Improvement:

9. Bio jetfuel and rocketfuel: Scale is questionable given supply constraints and the competing demand for biofuels in road transport. (Good argument to move all earthbound travel to electric, keep bio feedstock for bio fuels for airlines, space and the military.)

Advantage: Can be done, pilot programs have shown.

Disadvantage: Volume needed makes this a huge draw on the environment.

Example: Gas 2.0: Test of Aviation Fuel Suspended for Lack of Supply

Nice summary of many technologies, thanks. I would disagree with the points on GMO agriculture. I think there are too many uncertainties at this point in this area. They have not been able to show they can reliably increase food yields, despite the claims. And it is still an area where health and safety has not been adequately researched.
