It&#039;s better looking (I think), and the reason it&#039;s so much heavier and gets half the gas mileage is that the steel cage frame is nigh-invulnerable. (Look up Smart Fortwo crash videos on YouTube, they&#039;re amazing.) On the other hand, I can&#039;t afford a Fortwo; I could afford a Nano.</description>

		<description>If the Nano or better still a glider version (without the engine/transmission) were available in the US, it might make for a very interesting and low cost personal EV upgrade experiment. Take out the back seats and you have enough room for a battery pack. Even if unit was trashed, it is very little money lost. I wonder how much Tata would want for the glider alone?



It even looks a little like the Clooney car, not so thin though!</description>
