6 Alternative-Fuel Vehicles Built By Teenagers
Student Built Race Car Is Powered By Soybeans
Five kids from West Philly’s high school auto shop class, ex-gang members and high school dropouts built this soybean-powered race car. The car gets 50+ mpg and goes from 0 to 60 in just 4 seconds! But the real win here is how the experience impacted these kids. One of the few still in high school, Kosi Harmon, went from getting D’s to being a straight-A student.

Is there any way to reach any of these kids? They have the potential to be making a ridiculous amount of money. If I can pay even $20,000 to upgrade my car to be eco-friendly, I’m still saving at least $10,000 compared to buying a whole new one from a car company. Furthermore, I’d absolutely love it if all the car companies lost business because they were too money hungry and a bunch of kids were smarter.

I want a solar powered bike

Plenty of people build their own DC powered cars, my coworker has a late 80’s Ford Escort that is electric.
The only problem is that .GOV will NOT give you a tax break on a home built.

Jeez, those guys made that awesome biodiesel car? NICE! We need more people like that designing cars for today’s companies. I actually wouldn’t mind driving that thing for a bit

I find it inspiring that the younger generation are taking matters in to their own hands. The large car company’s should work alongside such young and forward thinking individuals to create the car of tomorrow.
