Cute car, but my husband's welding machine won't fit on any of the hybrids. I agree with Chris' response -- 20% improvement is not much. We recently started saving 63% on the price of our gas, diesel (and propane) by joining a fuel club. If the car manufacturers can't do better than that, we still have some control over how much we're spending. I just bought over $1,000 worth of fuel certificates for $399.95. Check it out at http://www.fuelclub/biz/sp1969

The high end of the auto world has been slow to respond to the trend of addressing fuel efficiency, even though they have the most talented engineering talent available - something I've had a hard time understanding - but this car sounds like a move in the right direction for BMW.

I think the gas mileage rating should of been in the first paragraph, I read this whole lengthy article just to find it had omitted the most important point.

BAD! BAD! BAD!

It sounds like this heap of iron qualifys for the cash for clunkers program new.

Back during the depresion it was dangerous to flaunt an expensive car, if the economy takes another plunge Beamer X6 crowd beware.
