The ChargePoint station is part of a network of stations that in turn connects to a server at CoulombTech. This is to arrange for centralized billing. Question: Why would a hotel want his customers to be charged by a third party if the costs for an overnight charge are in the range of a few dollars? Wouldn't it be much simpler to just charge a small (flat) fee at the time of checkout, or make it free of charge? A standard outdoor socket at the parking will do the trick, whereas the ChargePoint station shown is in the range of several thousand dollars; it will need many years to break even from the retail of electric energy.
