I work in Fuel Cell communications for GM and the story picked up from the Rochester newspaper takes a couple of separate elements from Fritz Henderson's Tweet chat and creates unwarranted speculation around the future of fuel cell vehicle efforts at GM. Fritz never tied upcoming headcount reduction at GM and any plans for fuel cell efforts together. His comment that fuel cell commercialization is a ways off is consistent with what we have been saying all along. But to get people spun up by combining two elements with no direct connection is sloppy and sensationalistic reporting.
