It's a double edged question, because I know he's an amatuer, but I am curious as to what the bikes capabilities are. But, let's be clear. It is not zero emissions. If you have to charge it, that electricity has to be generated somehow. Even if you pedal a human generator to charge it, there will be carbon emissions. If you charge it with solar, there is a footprint to the fabrication of the solar cells. Every emerging technology must start from a seed and grow. The competition is an excellent idea, and this machine looks to be quite capable or not.

The first cars were pathetic, too – by today’s standards, that is – but it’s a good thing people like you didn’t get in the way of the continued development of the car.
