If Honda wishes to bring back the CB750, look no further than Igor Chak’s Hydrogen concept.
The bike — which ran in production from 1969 to 2003 — was an unprecedented piece of machinery. It was the first to offer a front disc brake and an straight-4 engine with an overhead camshaft all on one affordable, production bike.

In fact Cycle Magazine said the CB750, upon its introduction, was “the most sophisticated production bike ever.” The Discovery Channel even ranked it as the No. 3 motorbike of all time!
So how does one update such a notable piece of equipment? First off, make it totally effin hot. Um…check!
Next, ditch the petroleum. This updated design runs on a four-cylinder liquid hydrogen engine emitting only water. To keep the bike tough and light, it will be made using a combination of carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium.
And the whole thing is controlled through a 5” OLED multi-touch display positioned right above the fuel tank. The iPhone-esque controller has three menus: GPS, Drive Modes and Diagnostics. The six-speed dual-clutch transmission with electronic lurch and traction control helps enhance the engine performance.
GPS mode is like any standard GPS but it can also connect via Wifi and cellular. The design states a 3G connection but by 2015 I hope we are at the 4G range, but not likely.
The front and rear electro-magnetic suspension adjust electronically. Sensors show readouts updating every 1/10 a second and can adjust everything on-the-fly. Drive modes included are economy, race and standard.
Some of the diagnostic modes are lap times, gas consumption, and top speed.
On the safety side of things, the bike has ABS, an airbag, steering damper and radar technology. The radar can sense an upcoming head-on collision and automatically slow the bike.
If realized, the concept has all the potential to be as groundbreaking as the original but I am not so sure it will still fall into the “affordable” category.

hydrogen how be good fuel if it could be stored in higher deseny in gas form and made more cheaply.
Man!!! That thing makes the original Suzuki Katana look like a beauty queen. Other than that, I have many questions about the air bag and I really believe that the radar braking while possibly good in a vehicle with 3 or more wheels to provide stability, would create more problems than it would solve on a 2 wheeled vehicle. perhaps it could simply flash and announce a closing rate violation warning.
Is the electromagnetic suspension licensed from Bose, or is it not a patent violation concern?

it would be a thrill to ride one of these..
I have the 78 version of the cb. The last year is was sohc. The cb went through a number of changes but this looks nothing like ANY of the cb750 bikes. I feel if honda wants to ride the cb legacy, then the bike should resemble a cb and not some goofy looking crotch rocket.
