It's Happening! Now we need the Solar Thermal electric plants, the Wind Turbines, Wave generators, Tidal power plants, and we will pay for the battery ballast that they require to become useful! I can see it now! a couple on charge at home at all times, electronically timed to charge at lowest rate, even programmed to "Give Back" for a profit, and available for me at my demand! Win-Win if I ever saw one! Cars bikes, heating, lighting, home electronics, all we need is Lithium and computerized chargers, and we have both! Let her fly!

@ Scott.

Yes, it's zero emissions at the vehicle level, which a gasser never is. No one argues against that.

Don't make the perfect the enemy of the good.

My Zero X is 100% wind powered, about as pollution free for full vehicle life and energy cycle as you can get, thanks to a subscription plan through my regional power company, at costs less than coal in most states.

Also, even if it used 100% coal or oil for power, the overall pollution is still much less than a gasser, due to efficiencies of electric drive and power planmt scale, than having many indidial gasoline engines. The long pollution tail fallacy that you forward has been debunked so ofetn and so thoroughly now, I don't know why I'm bothering to respond. See item 2 at http://www.calcars.org/vehicles.html for some of the background information and references to the many reports and studies on this topic.

Last, I'm using domestic power so my money stays in this country during our recession, rather than you sending your gasoline money overseas to volatile parts of the world with oil that we have to spend even more tax dollars on to keep the oil there flowing and relatively cheap. Plus I spend less on my vehicle power than gasoline, so the difference can be spent on other activities to even further reduce pollution, such as using my Zero X to do river cleanups in my area.

It's telling that you use an electrically powered air conditioner, not a gasoline powered one.

It is NOT zero emission!!! The pollution is merely at the point of electrical generation instead of use. By their definition my air conditioner is "zero emission"

So cool. I think that within about 2 years half of the auto and motorcycle racing scene is going to be electric based on performance alone.

PS: Forgot to say good post!
