Last week, the New York Daily News published a story about Ms. Sheila Bolar, 49, who was so upset that the NY city bus picking her up was not a hybrid that SHE BIT THE BUS DRIVER.
Really.
According to MTA bus driver Peter Williams, Ms. Bolar was visibly upset when he picked her up on New York’s upper West Side. “She came on the bus, and she said she waited more than an hour for a hybrid,” he explained. I told her “I’m not in control of what bus is assigned to me.”
More evidence that we’ve been bought out by the Weekly World News after the jump.
Apparently the woman began shouting at Williams, eventually grabbing him. When Williams made his next scheduled stop at West 79th Street, he radioed dispatch for help to deal with Ms. Bolar. “That’s when she bit me. I couldn’t believe it.”
Peter, I can’t believe it, either! Bolar’s bite went through Williams’ jacket, sweater, and undershirt, causing bruising and swelling. “She bit through all that,” he said.
Bolar fled the scene after biting Williams, but was apprehended a few blocks away. She faces felony assault charges. Williams, a Naval reservist and father of two, plans to take a little time off after the bizarre attack.

Sounds like a typical eco-nut.

Nick,
I’m sure you’re aware that humans are just human regardless of what ideologies they ascribe to. Right wingers have their fair share of nuts… as do christians, and athiests, and politicians, and school teachers, and liberals, and doctors and… etc, etc, etc.
Reasonable and civil debate is what I like. Sure, you can take the easy way out and shoot off one-liners that are meant to offend a large group of people who happen to also think this lady is crazy, or you could do the realistic analysis and come to grips with the fact that the kind of comment you’ve made does nothing but fuel the nut jobs on the other side of the spectrum.
@Nick
I have to agree 100% with Chambers on this one – and let me be the first card-carrying (albeit, Obama-voting) Republican to post the following on this thread: there are just as many wingnuts on the right as on the left … maybe more!
Anyway, I thought the article was funny, and serves to show that the very positive idea of “going green” and being environmentally responsible has become mainstream enough that even the mental patients are starting to see the light.

ECO NUT she was, thinks hybrids are the answer but they are not. “Going green” is such a stupid saying. Plug-in hybrids, better but still uses gasoline duh.

WOW, though I would definitely call her nuts. As in she should probably be in therapy if not committed kind of nuts!

Reminds me of the “take a bite out of crime” ad campaign. Bite anyone who drives an SUV, litters or pollutes. Might get results if it catches on (as in catch rabies), and if you get arrested your lawyer can get you off with a medical plea.

Sounds like Ms. Bolar is bi-polar.

Hmmm. . . All this talk about eco friendly hybrids. They do more damage to the environment than any normal car. You have to refine all the materials for the batteries and that is allot more toxic than refining metal and burning gas. You have to relpace the batteries every 3 or so years. There is NO way to dispose of them. Cant throw them into a landfill, cant reuse. All your doing is exchanging gas for batteries wich are allot more toxic and damaging to the environment. Sure you can buy a $40k hybrid to save gas money, ill drive my $8k Jeep and have $32k in gas money.

Forget hybrids. Solar power is the way of the future.

What you say seems interesting, can you give us some reference to dig a little more on the issue, Thanks
