  1. People; you already know what the general populace thinks about this shaft. We have gotten it before and we know it will be coming again… Poor ol’ California will be bankrupt by March. Have we heardthat before? Then it will be transportations turn and the a few cities and some more states and… It won’t end and our nincompoopofficials in Washington will silverspoon it out to them at our expense until there is no more ‘our expense.’ Hell No, I don’t like nor approve of it and with substantial, economic reasons to support ‘our beliefs.’ Ford has responded by curtailing costs and cutting off the layers of fat… let the other two do the same or go under. And by the way; rescind the loans to the financial giants that George(Idiot)Bush crammed up into us!

  2. I guess you tweaked me because I suddenly got turned on with more to say. I must ask why it is that people (American citizens and voters) will allow our lawmakers to run without reign over us and rip us off. If any one of them were to come upon them on a personal basis and reach into their pockets, take their billfold out and pilfer their money out; there would be “Hell to Pay.” There is literally no difference! These Yo-Yos are signing a legal document that mandates that we stand responsible for these ludicrous loan packages. Tell me there isn’t some behind the scenes pattering going on. Illinois and their governor will hold his hand out next as part of his deal for appointing another tagalong Yo-Yo to fill our seemingly illustrious presidents vacancy as Senator. I did not vote for Obama but given the choice between him and McCain, I feel like an Ostrich must feel in a desire to bury my head in the sand with hopes it will all go away. I remember “Ike” and also Reagan and a scarce few others who were ‘commendable’ as President. Honor was still intact. Integrity was a real word. In the not to distant future, my time will end here on planet earth but I am concerned mostly for my children, grandchildren and even beyond… It must end. Barack Obama; I pledge to support you whole Heartedly if you will only be a man and do what is right! Otherwise, who will you be in the memories of time?

  3. Man, this is PERFECT. I have blogged repeatedly on the lack of ETHICAL choices for auto purchasers (as well as lack of ethical choices for other consumer prodcts). I bought a SUBARU Forester in 2007 because I needed as small, dependable, economical SUV that could HAUL my kid and stuff for my GREEN business. I wanted a hybrid, badly. The only “smallish” hybrid SUV on the market was the Escape and it still was bigger and more expensive than I could afford or needed. And, I once owned a Ford…once.

I had a 94 Sentra that got 30/40 city/hwy which got totaled or I would have kept it and made do. THERE was no reason I should have had to sacrifice mpg when going to a larger car. We have the technology. In 14 years the MPG of autos should have risen, but it didn’t - it actually went DOWN. I couldn’t even buy another Sentra and get the same MPG. This is because our government FAILED to mandate what was best for the planet and its people. It is failing us again by bailing out these loosers.

I bought based on EXACTLY what the “ad” talks about: better resale, better quality, and better MPG for the size/style of vehicle. Plus, SUBARU has a ZERO landfill factory. My husband, a manufacturing engineer refuses to buy US-made autos because of the quality. He works in US manufacturing. He knows the lack of foresight that rules business decisions. He fights it DAILY. I bought as green and as resposible as possible and now I have to pay for other’s irresponsibility. I am pissed.

And unlike the previous commentor, I did vote for Obama and the difference between him and McSame are astronomical. I also know that REAGAN was a total looser of a President who was completely pro-business, de-reg free market fundamentalist. It is his “trickle down” economics and “small government” ideology that is responsible for the mess we are in right now. Unchecked growth, unreguated markets and corporate and upper class welfare have destroyed o9ur nation. He was such an anti-environmentalist he even took the solar panels off the whitehouse (which Carter installed). His policies effectively stopped the progression of green technology in the 80’s in support of big oil. We woudln’t even have the solar and wind technology we have if it weren’t for Carter.

I don’t know who this generation is that loves Reagan, but they seriously need to read some historitcal analysis of what he REALLY did as commander in chief and get the F over him.

  4. @beatnikblonde,

Spoken like a true liberal duffel bag. Way to regurgitate a bunch of media bs. You could not afford an escape, but you could afford a Subaru, one of the more expensive Suvs. Please! People like you are the reason that mainstream America has a hard time taking the green movement seriously. Reagan was very pro business, but he had to be to clean up the disaster that Carter had created. Also he took the solar panels off the Whitehouse because they were damaging the structure. So rant all you want, go smoke another joint and weave some hemp clothes.

  5. LOVE the poster! Should be posted everywhere. So TRUE! And the big 3 CEOs will even fly by private jet to Washington to beg… they would not drive the crappy cars they make!!!
