Good, as long as Exxon doesn't lobby against things, or other corporate interests don't jump in and destroy these sweet dreams for energy self sufficiency in the sunshine rich south! Google / torrent the movie "Who Killed The Electric Car" for the truth in America on the guerrilla tactics that screwed the people the last time we all jumped on the electric car bandwagon, and remember, electric cars challenge a big part of the "Status Quo" in America, even if government sponsored, government supported! Also keep in mind, Asians are experts in the field - they have the Shanghai Taxi, a Volt knock off, tested in two years +, of taxi service in Shanghai and going strong! We Americans may not be able to catch up, and we will never produce the same technology for less per unit, our labor far to costly, inefficient. Build the Solar Power Plants, the charging stations, the infrastructure to accommodate them, the cars will come as the price of oil rises to match the rising price of Gold, the falling dollar, and OPEC's next demands!

I am thrilled to see Tom Beardon and John Bedini getting some credit for their years of labor and contribution to battery charging technology. I am building some of their circuits which only require a pulse charge to initiate the system and the rest of the energy can be gathered free from the vacuum via negative energy and looped back through via inverter as positive energy to supply the batteries pulse charge. This all means more out than put in without breaking the laws of physics only using up to date quantum physics technology that the electrical engineering departments in Universities have not adopted.

Just recently the Irish government announced plans to make 10% of all vehicles in Ireland electrically powered.

They have also said that 100% of the cost of the purchase for business EV vehicles can be offset as a tax write off.

Its good to see governments finally wake up and start doing something positive but these targets are still far too low. Israel for example plans to have its entire fleet fully EV by 2020.

How is California going to do this exactly? We're talking about a state which still has rolling black and brown outs in the summer.

Where do they FEASIBLY expect to acquire this energy? Are they building REAL power plants or just investing in "alternatives".

News like this make me happy - the only way electric vehicles will be widely adopted as anything more than short-range city vehicles is if infrastructure like this exists. I'm glad to be a Californian right now, and actually somewhat proud of my Governator for supporting initiatives like this.
