my toyoto echo gets an average of 39+ mpg but I turn of the motor at red light and drive in a conservative manor never exceeding 65mph . This car has been a very good car I bought it because it was the best gas powered vehicle I could get for the money in 2005 its a 2 door 5spd very basic car .

Why can't the European version of these cars come to the US? Europe gets the fuel efficient 1.0 liter version and we'll get the 1.5 liter that won't get the 59mpg gas mileage. That will be the reason the car won't sell well. It's the same problem the smart has. Why buy a smart when it gets crappy gas mileage? Mid sized cars get about the same mpg as a Smart! Give us the high MPG version please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cars that are getting more miles per gallon, seem to be mostly mini cars. Can't they design cars with bigger wheels, more clearance from the ground, and taller seats that conserve energy?

Hmmm....59MPG estimated by the Euro Cycle. I was excited when 69MPG was predicted for the Smart ForTwo. Too bad in practice it gets mid 30's. This car will end up being lucky to get 40mpg, it will be a death box, and won't be as stylish, luxurious, or economical as a Mini Cooper.

It is coming out in roughly 15-18 months, I've seen it myself but I can't say where. Only that the one I saw had a custom 5axis leather interior and wheels.

They're planning on making them very customizable.

The FUZE concept is also taking shape and will be released along side the iQ. There's a total of 2 redesigns and 2 new models
