  1. We can all learn something from what Al Gore had to say the past few weeks. Unless we become self reliant for our energy requirements, we will never again be an independent democratic nation.

We can start with a fundamental change in our driving habits that is now required.

The Automobile Industry is going to be in the same position as the Airline Industry in the next few months. Unless we get away from gas combustion vehicles, including Hybrids, the automobile industry (as we know it) will die.We need to make drastic moves. America needs to move to ELECTRIC. The vehicles are not as fast, not always as fun to drive, but the move will save Americans money (Billions) and help bring change to our automotive companies. Let’s “Be Green”!!!!!!!!!!!! BG Automotive Group Ltd. has a car that will travel 80-100 miles per charge for $15,995. Finally a car that most Americans can afford. Did you know that 80% of all drivers, drive less than 50 miles per day? This new car will cost an equivalent of $0.20-0.25 cents/gallon (depending on electricity rates in your area). Why send $700 Billion per year to OPEC (now buying up U.S. companies) when we can use this money for our schools, health care, social security for all Americans, etc, etc, etc. We can make the difference if WE change.

  2. Barry - sounds intriguing. Please help me with the math, however.

A gallon of gasoline contains about 38 kilowatt-hours of energy. A combustion engine converts that fuel into power with about 20% efficiency.

If my local utility charges 11 cents per kilowatt-hour, and if the battery charger/battery combination is 100% efficient, here is my calculation for the cost of the equivalent of a gallon of gasoline.

    38 kilowatt-hours x 0.2 x $0.11 per kilowatt-hour = $0.84 cents per gallon.

That is still a great deal, but it is not even close to $0.20-0.25 per gallon.

  3. I wish the public, from children up could be educated with motivational speeches like this- so that people could learn about where our resources come from, that they are finite and we can conserve. Also we can push forward with new, cleaner, better technology.
This is why i love Gas 2.0 - it is the positive side of the peak oil gloom~!!!

  4. How can Al Gore give these speeches and lives his life in a hypocritical style? Why will he not debate the GW issues? Al Gore could really be a beacon for the world if only he got his facts straight and backed up what he says.
If a person is going to make statements that he cannot or is willing to debate or backup, then his rhetoric is very shallow and really does not mean much.

  6. When is comrade Gore going to replace his carbon belching private jet for one that is solar powered? Then watch him go really green when at 30000′ the sun is hidden by a nice dark cloud - sweet!

  7. Norman grow up!

  8. Wow Robert if you hate my solar airplane idea that much then you must really despise comrade gores asinine plan to “save” the planet from anthropological global warming. Shame, the poor sod thinks man is responsible climate change; that cyclic thing we call seasons (winter, spring, summer, and autumn). If this cycle is not stopped soon then we will all perish in ten years, comrade gore predicts. Weird is it not? But weirder still are the masses of drones that follow comrade gores crazy notion like it’s a religion!!!

  9. Norman,
If you spent your time researching things like the effects of gmo’s, the effects of air and water pollution, benefits of conservation, benefits of supporting local businesses, etc–instead of how can i disprove Al Gore and climate change, your time may be better spent. Taking the politics out of the equation, it’s just common sense that clean choices are beneficial, dirty choices are harmful. But, go ahead and waste your time and energy fighting Gore. Maybe he’ll find a way to harness your anger to power Utah.

  10. OH~ it’s like great!
