Tesla Begins Popping Roadster EVs Off Production Line
While the kinks are worked out, Tesla is starting to move Roadsters off the production line slowly.
27 Roadsters are currently in various stages of assembly, and the company hopes to reach a monthly production rate of 100 cars by this December.
In a blog post on the company website, Tesla CEO Ze’ev Drori has reprinted the content of a note he sent to customers last Friday in which he states that Tesla has finally “broken the logjam” and already delivered 9 Roadsters to California.
The Roadsters are being produced in the U.K., but Tesla recently announced that their next car, a sedan called Model S, will be produced in California.
The company is working on an advanced next generation powertrain that they hope to incorporate into the Roadster by this September. The current lack of this powertrain — and the present requirement to use one designed out-of-house — is a large part of what’s keeping production limited through the end of the year.
I’m sure all those Tesla Roadster “wait-listers” are happy that the cars are finally being produced, especially given the months of delays they’ve had to endure.

I’m honestly surprised. I didn’t expect them to start delivering this year.
“An Air Car You Could See in 2009: ZPM’s 106 MPG Compressed-Air Hybrid” I’LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT ACTUALLY HAPPEN. THE OIL INDUSTRY IS WAY TOO POWERFULL TO ALLOW IT. WONDERFUL DREAM THOUGH. IF IT COMES OUT I WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST IN LINE TO BUY ONE.

We can all learn something from what Al Gore had to say the past few weeks. Unless we become self reliant for our energy requirements, we will never again be an independent democratic nation.
We can start with a fundamental change in our driving habits that is now required.
The Automobile Industry is going to be in the same position as the Airline Industry in the next few months. Unless we get away from gas combustion vehicles, including Hybrids, the automobile industry (as we know it) will die.We need to make drastic moves. America needs to move to ELECTRIC. The vehicles are not as fast, not always as fun to drive, but the move will save Americans money (Billions) and help bring change to our automotive companies. Let’s “Be Green”!!!!!!!!!!!! BG Automotive Group Ltd. has a car that will travel 80-100 miles per charge for $15,995. Finally a car that most Americans can afford. Did you know that 80% of all drivers, drive less than 50 miles per day? This new car will cost an equivalent of $0.20-0.25 cents/gallon (depending on electricity rates in your area). Why send $700 Billion per year to OPEC (now buying up U.S. companies) when we can use this money for our schools, health care, social security for all Americans, etc, etc, etc. We can make the difference if WE change.
Al Gore is a joke. He preaches Green but does nothing in his actions to support it. I mean.. giving a speech about how change has to happen now and we need to correct our ways… while a CONVOY of lincolns idle outside with their AC’s on full blast so they Gore family can be comfortable when they eventually get to their car? He wants major change and overhaul of our energy structure but he can’t even accomplish something as small as simply turning off some cars when they’re not in used… God forbid he actually take the step of picking vehicles that are even a little more efficient than V8 American-Made luxury cars. He’s a joke.
