i think that is the best i've heard this year , yes we should ban together and quit buying middle eastern oil, but i think what we are doing is buying all of their oil and saving ours so when they do run out we can stick it to them.

the oil they will use is from fracking, which increases the green house gasses.since this is in caanada, maybe that is why we are seeing environmental change coming more quickly.thomas

hyperion is broke and has no money to back this crap any longer. For all those people whining about paying high gas prices, please ask them to build this in your backyard. The city voters voted almost unanimously to have them build this refinery in our county, right in the heart of rich farm country, but 80% of the rural people voted against this. In central SD there is thousands of miles of wide open space and nobody lives there and nobody would care if it was being built, but they are trying to build this in an area that would affect the livelyhood of thousands on people. We will fight this in the courts until there is a new source of energy. Us poor farmers did just fine through the great reccession, and we have the money to fight this for decades. Don't count on this being build in ELK POINT, SD anytime soon!

I would like to know why this oil find is not shared by all the networdk news programs. I have not heard even one mention of it. It is time for Americans to demand that our politicians take some immediate action. We are paying over $3 a gallon for gas when we have more oil right here in the US than does all the middle-east put together. This is outrageous and Americans need to demand that steps be taken to retrieve this oil. By the way, I wonder how much is being paid and to whom in order to stop the digging. First A FEW PEOPLE were afraid a FEW animals might have to move a FEW miles away up in Alaska; now a FEW people are concerned that a FEW people might become ill in South Dakota. Give me a break!! This gives another definition for the word STUPID!
