Although it could be one of the ugliest car hacks I’ve ever seen, Mike Turner of Hodges, SC, modified his 1992 Honda Civic to get 70 MPG.
As you can see in the picture and video clip, the modifications are relatively simple use of aluminum siding and plastic, which decrease wind resistance (vaguely reminding me of Aptera’s Typ1 electric car) and lowering the vehicle’s drag coefficient. It’s a much more extreme version of the modification seen on Ernie Rogers’ 76 MPG VW Beetle.
The reporter in this cheesy news clip from WCNC couldn’t have said it better: “It is absolutely hideous looking.” But you’ve got to appreciate how little this guy cares.

Cars CAN NOT RUN ON WATER. Water IS NOT COMBUSTABLE,so it won’t work as a fuel in an internal COMBUSTION engine.
Jesus.

I love the concepts!! But, tell us how we can do some of these things ourselves!

Yes, looks a lot like a poor man’s Aptera. I’m curious though, is that thing street legal?
If he’s going to drive such an abomination, he should at least throw a URL on the side and advertise his cause. He’ll get the attention of anyone else on the road, might as well send ‘em to a website and teach them about custom fuel efficiency mods…

Will, water is 2/3 hydrogen which, I assure you, is far more combustible than gasoline. You can, in fact run you car on water, using basic electrolysis. It’s a proven fact as people have indeed been doing so for quite some time now. The real question is, why aren’t more people exposed to that very basic technology??? I think anyone with a brain can figure that out. (HINT: follow the money, it will always take you to the evil doers door steps)
