Safe Hydrogen Fuel System Ready for Market and Your Car!

Put six-gallons of water in your fuel tank and drive anywhere you wish. The only thing you’ll need to replace, is a bit more water.

Last May, I wrote about Jim Hunt, a student at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois concerning his plasmatic induction system that turns water into hydrogen gas to fuel your vehicle.

Today, the system works, and Jim is looking for a company to manufacture and market his invention. His patent is secure, the system is proven and now ready to produce.

The YouTube video above shows Jim and his crew burning a hole in a stainless steel bowl with the hydrogen gas produced by his system.

His workshop is located on four acres of property in Monmouth, Illinois, and Jim says he’s been running cars and an old fire engine around the property using hydrogen produced by his invention. He also runs a 16 KW diesel engine generator with the system.

I interviewed Jim on Planetsave, where he talks about his invention and its future.

  1. As a young boy I used to fantasize about a vehicle with a large fan on top with reduction gears connected to the wheels. The faster the car goes the more power is generated by the fan and applied to the drive wheels and faster yet it goes.
Wonderfull invention if the laws of physics did not apply

  2. How does this system work in the winter time? Here in Michigan temperatures get below freezing often in the winter months. How will that effect water in the gas tank? Do you add anti-freeze? How will that effect the system? Will it work? Anti-freeze is more expensive than gas right now. Please respond.

  3. Hello. The law of conservation of energy does hold. A vehicle alternator is constantly turning and the friction of this does waste energy. The engine would be more efficient without it. Temporarily anyway. The same is true for the water cooling system. Without the pump, pulleys and drive belts, there would be less friction, but alas this is also a temporary state. The crux of the matter is that the alternator produces enough energy to replenish the battery, eg after starting it is a high load. Once recharged, the alternator just trickles a very, very small charge into the battery to keep it topped up. Now, when the alternator is worked hard to recharge a depleted battery, it actually produces a back E.M.F. (electromotive force), this is effectively a back pressure, or resistive force to the drive pulley. This is due to electric theory and the design of alternators/elec motors. This back force is balanced and overcome by the mechanical power of the engine, which has to work harder (eg. revs might dip when alternator is under load) and thus results in higher fuel consumption. Electrical power in a vehicle is not free and the more electrical systems are operated on the vehicle, the higher the fuel consumption.. Producing hydrogen and oxygen from water has been known about for the last century. Unfortunately the molecular bonds between the 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen atoms are very strong(good job really if you consider the world is largely made up of water, including ourselves) and it takes a lot of energy to seperate them. The resulting gases do not return enough energy to compensate or we would effectively have an endless and easy fuel source. I have heard of water powered cars that used a catalyst material in the chemical reaction, which results in a much more efficient bond breaking process. It may be that this possibilty could be the answer, but I have yet to see it with my own eyes. Heres hoping!, Gary..

  4. As an addition to my last ramble.. It is claimed that the hydrogen is used as an induction additive and this then results in a much cleaner and COMPLETE burn of the fuel, gas or diesel. Now in this case it is the same as LPG kits that can be fitted to diesel vehicles. This does result in an improved miles per gallon due to the complete burn of each charge of fuel, effectively then not wasting an amount of fuel as do conventional diesel/gas engines with their very inefficient combustion process. Therefore, yes improved mpg figures are possible, but I would be interested to weigh them up against the losses caused by the increased load on the alternator, to see a true mileage figure. 20 to 30 amps is a lot of electrical power to continueosly pull from the alternator. In the similar case for the lpg additive, then there is no increased load on the alternator, only on your wallet by having to buy the lpg in the first place. Could work out cheaper though!??
By the way, although lpg (and probably Hydrogen) results in cleaner running vehicles, it is dry fuel and does not adequately lubricate the upper cylinder areas of an engine and an extra lubrication additive is required. Could be an expensive mistake in the mid term if not taken into account. It also burns hotter!! Good luck and remember that a sugar coating can hide some very unpleasant tasteing things!!

Also, It would seem to me that adding a disclaimer to ones business sales advert, would not remove the burden of responsibility for the recipients safety when purchasing equipment purposely advertised and sold with the intention of D.I.Y construction and fitment, following supplied instructions. This could seriously blow up in someones face!! Especially without any industry standard safety design and features…. Ummmmmm.

  5. I have been able to obtain this book of instructions.. It seems practicle to me although I am not qualified to state so ,yet..
The power needed to generate the desired amount in the correct MH, {2 different cycles}is accomplished by building a coil {specifical instructions on how to build including the total # of wraps of a specific size wire}to step up to the desired power needed..
Is not this what coils do as same as transformers do in our power grids..The high voltage used in our cars today with a coil on each cylender to accomplish this where we use to use one..There is a lot of experimenting going on on this , which will eleminate the need of a fuel cell and replenishing stations everywhere..It is a hybrid so it will still need a fuel such as gas or diesel and will supposedly improve milage by minimum 40%.. We’ll see possibly if when I find all the materials..Some modifications to oxygen sensors and MAPS..Some college students are developing their own computer chip for this purpose after trying to use Fords which had too many variations for this application..

  6. This type of claim is usually doubted because it violates the First Law of Thermodynamics. However to cheer up these guys we can give them a chance to prove their invention. One test is to run a test car until the water fuel is consumed, then fill this up again with water and see if the test car will still run. Another test is install a meter at the exhaust to check for hydrocarbon residue. If both tests are met then there is some prospect to this invention.

  7. What Happens When Hydrogen Burns?
Hydrogen burns readily in presence of oxygen, releasing considerable energy as heat and producing only water as exhaust.
When hydrogen burns in air (which is mostly nitrogen), some oxides of nitrogen (NOx, contributors to smog and acid rain) can be formed, but much fewer pollutants are formed than when normal hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline and diesel are burned. Because no carbon is involved, using hydrogen fuel does not contribute to global warming.
Hydrogen Gas has a higher flashpoint than gasoline. The self-ignition temperature of hydrogen is 550 degrees Celsius. Gasoline varies from 228-501 degrees Celsius, depending on the grade.
When ignited, hydrogen burns upward, and is quickly consumed. By contrast, materials such as gasoline and diesel vapors remain a flammable threat for much longer.
Hydrogen is non-toxic. Hydrogen is a non-toxic, naturally-occurring element in the atmosphere. By comparison, all petroleum fuels are asphyxiants, and are poisonous to humans.
Hydrogen combustion produces only water. When hydrogen is burned in oxygen, only pure water H20 is produced. In any case, when a hydrogen engine burns, it actually cleans the ambient air, by completing combustion of the unburned hydrocarbons that surround us. Compared with the toxic compounds (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrogen sulfide) produced by petroleum fuels, the products of hydrogen burning are much safer.

Thousands of cars have been safely converted without any issues or incidents.
