Ok, Which Way Do YOU Want To Go?
How about riding a tandem bike, and being able to look your companion straight in the eye? This might be dangerous, but a Taiwanese inventor has created a face-to-face tandem bicycle.
Chen Yugang seems to think it will be a big hit, and is courting manufacturers. He says,
“On a traditional two-person bicycle, the rider in the rear seat can only see the back of the one in front. So I started wondering how I could get them sitting face-to-face”.

Actually, the bike can be ridden face-to-face, back-to-back or conventionally since the seats rotate and the gears can be set to move the bike in either direction. He says the riding mode can be changed in about 10 seconds.
Chen went on to say,
“Face-to-face is suitable for a parent and child, or dating couples, while the back-to-back mode gives both riders a good view, and the one at the back can have both hands free to shoot pictures or eat snacks.”
Chen hopes to also patent in invention in the United States, Germany, Japan and China.

Thats quite an idea. I can see this might ring a bell with honeymooners who like to ride bikes.
But if your partner isn’t of the opposite sex, the possible unattractiveness of a sweaty ugly face will automatically slow you down.
Nice 1.
Just thinking about it makes me motion-sick. Has anyone made a recumbent tandem?
