Mr Kertz is right on the money. The sooner we begin to use biofuels from algae the better. Crude oil is derived from algae, albeit very old algae. The same lipids that produced crude oil is there, it is present in the carbon structure. With algae the carbon structure can be altered also. we can produce Fuel for everything from jets to farm machinery to home heating. If detroit wants to get out of the funk then they should start producing engines that will run straight from th factory on either Straight Vegetable Oil or biodeisel or gasoline from algae. Detroit and the oil companies should research this out. It should be engineered to the point that you can buy a truck or a car that will perform just as well on biofuels as they do now. The power companies need to start containing their carbon dioxide and compressing it so that algae farmers can use it to feed the algae with.
